Station Shield
Dosco Station Shields are designed and built to the contractors specifications utilising the flexibility and adaptability of Dosco’s technical and manufacturing facilities.
The Station shield shown is a 9 metre diameter segmental unit, facilitating erection and dismantling within the tunnel.
A sacrificial skin is also incorporated to enable reuse of the main machine body, hydraulic cylinders around the periphery are used to advance the shield.
The tunnel lining segments used were 1 metre wide weighing 330 kg each, with 20 making a complete 9 metre outside diameter SGI bolted ring
